There are 14 mountains in the world that are over 8,000 meters high. Italian Reinhold Messner was the first person in the world to climb all 14. It took him 16 years. This is the film of Nims Purja, a Nepal-born mountaineer, attempting to summit all 14 of these peaks within just 7 months.
The film is woven with interesting stories around triumph and tragedy, determination, and of course stunning scenery. Queues on Mount Everest, avalanches, struggling climbers, as well as family and political pressures all stand in Nims' way and may just prevent him from achieving his goal.
